We’re 131 Years Away From Achieving Full Gender Parity, According To The World Economic Forum

This post originally appeared on Forbes on June 23, 2023.

New data from LinkedIn shows that women continue to face undue barriers to being hired into leadership roles, and we've taken a step backward on that front in the last two years. This data was featured in the 2023 World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report and shows that the hiring of women into leadership roles has fallen to 2021 levels across all major economies. The lack of representation at the highest levels of leadership contributes to the gender pay gap, which accounts for a significant portion of the full parity gap. The report claims that if we continue at the current rate of progress, it will take 131 years to reach full parity.
